LoRETTO, Pa. (WTAJ)— Saint Francis advanced to the NCAA Tournament after winning the NEC Championship Game Saturday
Three-seeded Red Flash at Austin Regional. Only twice in program history have the Red Flash been the third seed in a Regional.
Northwestern is Saint Francis' first opponent. Other Austin Regional teams include top-seeded Texas and Siena. The Northwestern game is Friday, May 17 at 6:30 pm ET.
“Everyone’s thrilled. I think our school has a great chance. The fifth-year seniors have been to Austin Regional before, so it will be a full circle occasion, said Rachel Marsden
“But I think we're all looking forward to it and being the three seed in the tournament.”
“I feel very confident,” said Lexi Hernandez. Our pitching staff is going good, and we're all seeing the ball well. Very confident.”
The Red Flash bounced back this year, going 40-12 and undefeated in conference.
